I recently started work on a 4 string, medium scale (32'' scale) fretless bass, similar to the Walnut 4 string that I built last year. I haven't taken step by step photos for this build, but I thought I'd share a few photos of the progress so far.
It features a 1 piece, chambered White Limba body, with a stunning Burr Walnut top. The neck is made from Maple and Black Limba, with an Ebony fingerboard (lined with Maple veneers). I'll be using Schaller tuners, and a Schaller bridge fitted with piezo saddles.

This little bark inclusion line showed up when the body was cut to shape. I'm sure some luthiers wouldn't be thrilled about it.. but I actually like it when the wood has some natural defects on show.
